The chairman of Convention Muslim League Fazlul Kader Chowdhury and General Secretary Malik Mohammad Kashem met General Tikka Khan at the Governor House. They assured the Governor of all out support on behalf of the party.

At a conference in Karachi, the chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party Z. A. Bhutto ordered to report the government about the individuals who were working against the solidarity of Pakistan. He urged everybody on devoting themselves to strengthen the forces of President Yahya in order to mitigate the crisis.

The names of liaison officers and conveners of the Peace Committee of different wards of Dhaka city were announced. Advocate Nurul Haque Mazumdar was appointed as the secretary of the central office of the Peace Committee, located at 5, Elephant Road, Moghbazar.

A day long rampant collision took place between the freedom fighters and the Pakistani Army on the possession of Salutikar airfield at Sylhet. During this, Pakistani air force bombarded Sylhet. After a massive collision between the freedom fighters and the Pakistani Army, the Pakistani forces started mass killing of the Bengalis.

At Mujibnagar, a written order including 18 demands was announced on behalf of Bangladesh. The Prime Minister Tajuddin Ahmed urged the citizens on abiding by the orders of the government. The orders were as follows:

No Bengali officer will cooperate with the enemies. Every officer will work according to the orders of the independent government of Bangladesh. Judging different situations in enemy-possessed areas, act on your own discretion.

Employees of government and semi-government organizations will help the Bangladesh government and freedom fighters within their capability.

All working or retired personnel of military and semi military forces will join the nearest camp of freedom fighters at once. Don’t cooperate with the enemies.

None but the Bangladesh government has the right to collect tax, tolls and duties from Bangladesh.

Employees of communication sector, especially the navy officers will not cooperate with the enemies under any circumstance.

Keep an eye on the demand of food and other daily necessary goods in your respective area.

Keep theft, robbery, black market and hoard under strict observation.

A group of traitors are confusing the people with religious manipulation and blather about solidarity. Mark them. Be careful about them. Hand them over the freedom fighters.

Form guard-forces in every village and make arrangement for the volunteers for those guard-forces to be sent to the nearest camps of the freedom fighters.

The enemy movement has to be reported at the camps of freedom fighters immediately.

The public vehicles will have to be handed over for the use of freedom fighters, on demand.

Fuel cannot be sold to anybody but the Bangladesh government and the freedom fighters.

Don’t help West Pakistan Army or their agents. Anybody doing so will be regarded as an enemy.

Don’t pay heed to any rumor. Don’t lose hope for the ultimate success.

All healthy and fit individuals will have to report to the nearest camp of freedom fighters with their own arms.

Any enemy soldier, caught or surrendered, has to be consigned to the freedom fighters.

Make sure that all kinds of communication and supply systems of West Pakistan Army cannot be restored.

Don’t trust the false propaganda broadcast by so-called Pakistan Radio at all.
